# Deprecation Notice
As of May 2023 support for Ubuntu Bionic has ended, and as a result, no further
releases of the `cflinuxfs3-release` BOSH release will be published. Instead,
please use the Ubuntu Jammy-based stack BOSH release available at
[cloudfoundry/cflinuxfs4-release](https://github.com/cloudfoundry/cflinuxfs4-release),
which will be kept up-to-date and released in the same fashion as
`cflinuxfs3-release`.

### cflinuxfs3 BOSH Release

This bosh release contains the rootfs package as well as a job that will
extract the package to `/var/vcap/packages/cflinuxfs3/rootfs`.

#### Trusted certificates

Trusted certs can be installed in the rootfs by setting the
`cflinuxfs3-rootfs.trusted_certs` property to the certificate chain in any
order. For example in your deployment manifest:

#### Requirements

This release depends on recent BOSH versions. In particular it requires bosh
version v206+ (1.3072.0) and stemcell version 3125+.

#### Uploading release to BOSH-Lite

The following command will create and upload the cflinuxfs3 BOSH release
to the BOSH director.

`git submodule update --init`
`bosh -n create-release && bosh -n upload release`

#### Running smoke tests

1. Ensure you are using the [BOSH v2 CLI](https://bosh.io/docs/cli-v2.html)

2. Target your bosh director

3. Run `bosh -n deploy -d rootfs-smoke-test manifests/manifest.yml && bosh run-errand -d rootfs-smoke-test cflinuxfs3-smoke-test`
